Some of us are more tired than others...

Owen received this 500+ piece Lego set from Aunt Steph yesterday. He worked on it a couple of hours yesterday and then got up at 6:30 this morning to start again. Less than 24 hours later, voila!

Birthday Blowout

We had quite a Saturday - a birthday party for Owen & his friends in the morning and a party for extended family that night. It rained at the kids party at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, but everyone had fun anyway. And he had a great time Saturday night.
The pictures here are from the party. Look at the one where the kids are sitting in a circle when the nature guide brought in the snake. The girls were very dramatic.
We are very tired today...

A day at the races

Owen, Will and Crandaddy went to the racetrack yesterday to see the cars practice before this weekend's race. Owen has really taken a liking to NASCAR. He has his car (#48), Crandaddy has his car (#24) and Owen has chosen a car for Jack (the M&M car). Since these guys are generally among the top contenders, I guess he finds it interesting to watch. He definitely likes to call Crandaddy on race day and chat it up.
He told me yesterday that he had seen the #48 car at the track and "it was a real champion" because it had 3 trophies.
Of course, as you can see by the picture above, his favorite part of any sporting event is the "blue drinks" and the snacks...

Next will be "War & Peace"

OK, so I know that Owen can read. I mean, he's been able to pick out words and things for a long time. But sometimes I am still amazed by how well he can read, especially for a pre-schooler. For instance, today he starts reading this library book. This is not a book that I've read to him before. See the video for a quick example.
